Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): I was very undecided about what I wanted my project topic to be and how I wanted to do it. I originally started out with a few pictures I had from when I lived in Philadelphia. I decided that, that idea wasn’t getting me anywhere but the few hours I had worked on the draft i submitted helped me practice how to montage. I then looked through the examples given on iLearn to decide I should do my favorite quote by Abraham Lincoln. I found my images on Google search. I found my wooden background image first and dragged it to fit the 8.5 x 11 page. I then decided to put a glow filter on it so it gave my project more color and so it would be easier to notice my montage. I added a few rectangles and then added the text. I then searched for Abe Lincoln pictures and dragged them to photoshop on my opened project. I scaled them to fit and placed them. I erased some of the backgrounds on them so my piece didn’t look so boxy. I then used the brush tool to create the montage effect. I had my opacity on 100%.
Message: The message is to inspire people to be the best they can be and make the best of themselves.
Audience: Anyone who loves Abraham Lincoln or who simply needs a quote to lift their spirits!
Top Thing Learned: I learned the shortcuts when doing your montage on the keyboard is to just hit x to change the color pallet to black or white. Also to change the brush size you just have to hit the left or right bracket keys.
Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied: I used the salmon colored glow filter on top of the wood background.
Color scheme and color names: Analogous but I added hint of Salmon color
