Project 7: Web Page

  • Description: A web page designed to showcase my personally created logo.
  • Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): The process for the creation of my webpage go as follows. The program that I used was Text Wrangler. I opened the activity file that we used in class to use as a basis to my webpage. I changed the text to describe my logo and the things that was required for the project on the header and the unordered list bullets. I then saved that document as the HTML document. Next, I opened a new document to create my CSS stylesheet. Inside my stylesheet is where I did the “make-up” for my website. I first changed the background color of my website to red.  I changed the fonts to best match the context of my logo. I changed the background color to red. Inside my main header, also known as H1, I then added a background image using the image url. I added the background image information to my css stylesheet under the h1 tag. The image of the wake was then was added to my header. For my other header, also known as H2, I changed the color to match my background color of red. I then added my logo image to my website using the image url which was logo.png. I placed my image tags inside of div tags to be able to center my logo image through my css stylesheet. I placed breaks inside the div tags to let my logo image have more breathing room between the main header.

Project 5 Logos

  • Description: Three logo variations for the same company
  • Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): This was really fun to create a logo in Illustrator. I used the shape tool to create a rectangle. I used the direct select tool to manipulate some of the curves on the ends to create more of a wakeboard shape. I then used the pen tool to make the lines to create the illusion of where a fin would be on wakeboards and I used the pen tool to create the waves. I also used the direct select tool to adjust anchors and anchor points.  The typography used played a big role in this project and was also interesting.  I made sure to choose fonts from contrasting categories to capitalize on the contrast. I also tried getting some more contrast by changing the sizes of the words
  • Message: Ollie X Wakeboards are perfect for shredders who want to flip ollies and do other tricks on the wake.

Project 4: Montage

WhitneyBillman-P4Montage-AbeLincolnDescription: Montage of 3 images with a famous inspirational quote by Abraham Lincoln.

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): I was very undecided about what I wanted my project topic to be and how I wanted to do it. I originally started out with a few pictures I had from when I lived in Philadelphia. I decided that, that idea wasn’t getting me anywhere but the few hours I had worked on the draft i submitted helped me practice how to montage. I then looked through the examples given on iLearn to decide I should do my favorite quote by Abraham Lincoln. I found my images on Google search. I found my wooden background image first and dragged it to fit the 8.5 x 11 page. I then decided to put a glow filter on it so it gave my project more color and so it would be easier to notice my montage. I added a few rectangles and then added the text. I then searched for Abe Lincoln pictures and dragged them to photoshop on my opened project. I scaled them to fit and placed them. I erased some of the backgrounds on them so my piece didn’t look so boxy. I then used the brush tool to create the montage effect. I had my opacity on 100%.

Message: The message is to inspire people to be the best they can be and make the best of themselves.

Audience: Anyone who loves Abraham Lincoln or who simply needs a quote to lift their spirits!

Top Thing Learned: I learned the shortcuts when doing your montage on the keyboard is to just hit x to change the color pallet to black or white. Also to change the brush size you just have to hit the left or right bracket keys.

Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied:  I used the salmon colored glow filter on top of the wood background.

Color scheme and color names: Analogous but I added hint of Salmon color
